Why Peter, James, and John? When Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from death, “he did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James” (Mk 5:37). Jesus “took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him” when he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane (Mt 26:37).
